Wine aficionados know that heat can damage wine. Wine needs to be stored
at a constant temperature of around 49° to 58° F. Keeping it in a
refrigerator is not the best option, because the vibrations from a
refrigerator can affect the wine's aroma. Wine cellars are specially
designed to store your wine at the proper temperature without harmful
vibrations.
Red wines and white wines have different temperature
needs. Red wine should be stored at 55° to 60°, white wine at 49° to
56°, and rose wine at 49° to 51°. It's best to either have 2 or
more separate wine coolers for storing your different wines, or get one
that has two independently controlled temperature zones.
